Reasons why Steve Jobs isn’t the next Bill Gates – a photo essay
GigaOM has some hype about how Mr. Jobs looks like a contender for the role of Evil Overload formerly played by Mr. Gates. I’d like to present a photo essay of why that is not the case.
Are you prepared for the machismo that is BillG?
WARNING: This post is sexier than usual.
Please keep this away from the eyes of women and young children, they may find it stimulating and confusing. Keep your eyes directly ahead, turn the volume off on your speakers, and move any coffee mugs or glasses of water away from the keyboard.
Does Steve Jobs have the charisma to fill BillG’s cute little evil overlord booties? I think not.

I’m sorry for burning out your retinas.
And only tangentially related, did you see the new iPod shuffle? Crazy small. You know that’s going to end up in the washing machine. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with the iTV versus the X-Box 360 with Media Center running on a PC. My money is on the X-Box 360 dominating.Big news that a lot of the sites are glossing over: gap-less playback on iTunes and iPods. This is huge for anyone who listens to electronic music / DJ mixes (yes, I still think it’s 1996).
That was awesome.
The new shuffle looks similar to the iPod spoof the iPod flea. I can only see it being used by people who are very active and overly concerned with weight.
Also glossed over with the new iTunes release is that it buggers up your music library and has degraded much of the quality of your music.
Gapless playback in iTunes? That might be the final nail in the Winamp coffin…it’s a shame, really.
And gapless playback on an mp3 player would be nice, too. I’m currently working with a Samsung Yepp, but am eyeing the Creative line for my next one. This might change things…
